Tom has more than three decades of technical accounting, SEC reporting, and corporate
accounting experience. Tom most recently served as the Vice President of Accounting at
Laureate Education. During his tenure with Laureate, Tom was the core team member of the
SEC reporting team and aided with the Company’s initial public offering. Prior to Laureate, Tom
served as the Corporate Controller for Global Learning Systems, Inc. and as member of the
corporate accounting team for Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc and The Chapman Company.

Tom has developed expertise in the following areas of accounting: mergers and acquisitions,
valuation of intangible assets, business unit dispositions, noncontrolling interests with
redemption features, goodwill impairments, and debt and equity instruments. Tom has also led
the oversight of the consolidation of hundreds of domestic and international subsidiaries.
